Fri was an extremely hot day, with temperatures hitting 33degrees Celsius. Then, unexpectantly, it rained. It was quite unfortunate because there was a Night Market held in school that day. All sorts of Asian food like Ramly burger was sold there, equivalent to a pasar malam. The food quality was disappointing though, except for the Ramly burger, which was made and sold by COSDU. Haha eh that review wasn't given by me. I didn't even had a chance to try it. By the time I reached there it was all sold out, and the review was very good. Then nearing the end, the whole school had a black out, except for the stalls, which were powered by a separate generator (thank goodness). Later we found out that the whole of swanston had blacked out. So along the road, students from their apartments were standing around chatting and waiting for the lights. Met my frens at the tram stop. Turns out that not only swanston, but all the way to the other side of campus, was in darkness. Only college square along swanston had light. Amazing. No wonder it's more expensive. So we all trooped up to jansen's place, wanting to give a sneak attack, but we didnt have the heart to and called him instead. When we reached the room su san got a shock of her life when fax jumped out at her. So much for being kind. We watched a bit of Fina, called terence over, played cards, then went home. Surprisingly, my home was safe from darkness! Haha. Lucky.
The next day we found out what happened. On fri morning, in the Burnley tunnel, a truck's tyre exploded and it skidded, resulting in a domino series of crashes. 3 fatalities and the whole tunnel had to be closed. The black out came about when the gas pipe nearby leaked and exploded at night. Serious business.
On sat morning, I went to Clayton by train. It was like taking an MRT train from sembawang to city hall, only about 45 mins. Went there to collect stuff that my parents passed to me through their friends. Finally got good quality foolscap paper! Yes paper here is thin like nobody's business.
That night Daylight Savings started. We're supposed to turn the clock back by an hour. Dun quite understand it. So now the time difference between Melbourne and Singapore will be 2 hrs, instead of 3. After winter this will revert.
I also found out that sarah ko is studying in melbourne as well! Haha so we met up on sunday before lunch, just to chat a bit. She's studying in la trobe uni doing speech therapy, under MOH scholarship.
Sunday was a waste of time. We waited nearly an hour for joey, hy and gy to join us for lunch. After we ate we headed down to fed sq, anticipating the choc fest at the wine food and arts festival. But we couldnt find any choc... Sad... So we decided to split up and go home. We left by cutting through a building and the choc fest was inside! By then no mood liao, so we didnt stop. Instead, fax, jansen and I went to smith st to look at adidas, nike and surfboarding dfos. The range there wasn't really good so I didnt buy anything. Shoes there are cheap though. A pair of addidas soccer boots sold for AUD$25, which is like S$30...
When we were done, it was so early, and we didnt feel like going home to cook. After much dallying, we visited elizabeth's place to get her out for dinner. She lives next to an alley, and she said she saw people making out there before. Sad. What a place to make out in. And to get caught too. After dinner (nasi lemak), the guys sent me home, stayed a while, and went back. Boring weekend.

This picture was taken at a CSS 2006 Trivarsity Retreat at The Church of St. Teresa, by a fellow retreat cum CSS member.
Besides its bluish hue, I love how the shot was taken: from the church looking out to the city. We are often attracted by
the excitement that this world has to offer, but we should often be reminded that as Catholics, it is important
to look back at our selves to reflect, and to turn to God as often as it possible. For we are, afterall, children of God.
I thought of replacing this picture when I lost my template, but I could not find another so full of meaning and beauty to me.
It reminds me of my identities and roles - my spirituality, my God, my home, the people who read this blog, and of my own beauty.

song in her head: wants to give you up. she knows you're not the one. not the one who understands her. not the one who wants to support her and love her for all her imperfections.
