I dissected my first rat today. No problems with the dissecting itself, but the smell was horrendous. Thank goodness live animals don't smell like that. It was really quite fun identifying the various systems of the animal, like its digestive, excretory and respiratory systems, as well as popping the balls of the poor male rat up into its abdomen cavity. Talk about being sadistic. The rat's heart is also different from ours. It has its two cavities (the atria) hanging out from the main heart, so its shape is like a mickey mouse. A mickey mouse heart.
Quite tired after that, but still went for cosdu's meeting on evangelisation today. The speaker was good, and surprisingly I absorbed quite a lot even though I was already very stoned. Went to toto's for dinner, and had a good convo with jean, hobart, jansen and jess, though much of it was crap. Went to fredo's for ice-cream after that.
Note: I went to Fredo's for gelati yesterday with gy joey and batman, and we're going again tomorrow after dinner. It doesn't help that Fredo's is just behind my house. Is moving a good idea? Depends on how you look at it I suppose.

This picture was taken at a CSS 2006 Trivarsity Retreat at The Church of St. Teresa, by a fellow retreat cum CSS member.
Besides its bluish hue, I love how the shot was taken: from the church looking out to the city. We are often attracted by
the excitement that this world has to offer, but we should often be reminded that as Catholics, it is important
to look back at our selves to reflect, and to turn to God as often as it possible. For we are, afterall, children of God.
I thought of replacing this picture when I lost my template, but I could not find another so full of meaning and beauty to me.
It reminds me of my identities and roles - my spirituality, my God, my home, the people who read this blog, and of my own beauty.
