Fredo's is open! Ice cream! Winter is coming to an end soon, the weather is turning warmer, but only slightly. I realised in all my life I've never talked or even thought about the weather so much as in this one year or so. This is because Melbourne's weather fluctuates enormously. When I was on the streets yesterday I really thought the person walking in front of me was smoking, so I was trying to avoid the smoke, until I realised I couldn't smell the smoke at all. Not because it was so cold that my nose froze (well it did, but), but because that wasn't smoke at all. It was the person's breath. Everybody was breathing smoke out through their noses. Then today, it was warm in the afternoon. Warm! Fluctuations.
On saturday it was not so cold, but it was windy. I went for the photo taking session for jason and ian's grad ceremony, rushed to western oval to watch lionel's lacrosse game, n went for dinner at ana and celina's hsewarming party. Reached home at 1plusam, slept at 2am, woke up at 9am for my driving lesson the next day, and went for mass in the afternoon. At night, had dinner, then went out for supper + cake to celebrate yanfen's birthday. Talk about spending money =S.
FYI (for your information), lacrosse is a game with a stick and a net attached to it, lots of violence, and weird stick movements. We stood there in the roaring wind for two hours just to watch lionel play; thankfully their team won. Not to mention the journey on foot to the oval. It's about 20mins walk from school, and we brisked walked all the way. And all this while I was carrying a Safeway chicken for the potluck at night.
Thank goodness Ana and Celina's place had an oven for me to heat up the chicken. I was quite early so i learnt how to cook mapo tofu and fried mee. It's quite easy actually, since the sauce is pre-made. The rest came quite late, and we were all starving, so we had a lot of nachos. The people with the plates came last lah! We had no choice but to wait. Home-cooked food is just bliss. We played Pictionary and it was hilarious. Then we squeezed into ana's room to sing to her guitar, and ended singing praise and worship songs.
Driving is damn cool. Im taking manual so there are so many things to juggle when driving. I dont have a good sense of where the brakes and accelerator are, so I keep mixing them up. Fun.
Dinner was baked marinara rice, courtesy of fax. Yanfen went for the ski trip and had just returned. Her 21st bday on that day so we went out for a short celebration. Turns out she and ian hadnt had dinner yet, so we went for supper in Supper Inn in chinatown. Ingenious name huh. Congee tastes fantastic when you haven't had it in a long while. Then yanfen still wanted her cake, so we went to notturno's. I'll have to try to cut down on eating out this week.

This picture was taken at a CSS 2006 Trivarsity Retreat at The Church of St. Teresa, by a fellow retreat cum CSS member.
Besides its bluish hue, I love how the shot was taken: from the church looking out to the city. We are often attracted by
the excitement that this world has to offer, but we should often be reminded that as Catholics, it is important
to look back at our selves to reflect, and to turn to God as often as it possible. For we are, afterall, children of God.
I thought of replacing this picture when I lost my template, but I could not find another so full of meaning and beauty to me.
It reminds me of my identities and roles - my spirituality, my God, my home, the people who read this blog, and of my own beauty.

oh and don't bother asking me out

mood: resigned
song in her head: wants to give you up. she knows you're not the one. not the one who understands her. not the one who wants to support her and love her for all her imperfections.
