I was thinking about how I seem to lose topics of conversation with some of my friends back in Singapore. It's a weird phenomenon, seeing how I should have more things to say considering that I'm living in a foreign land with totally different experiences. Yet, is it the distance and segration from each others' lives that we fail to come to a common level of understanding and platform for conversation? I would think not. We're not so different yet. On second hindsight, its cause may be the existence of a blog. Yes, this exact same blog that you are reading right now. Too many and too much of my life has been detailed here that I cannot even relate stories, since it's all been heard. Every one of you reading my blog will receive the same information in the same package, and what you know of me and my experiences will not be varied. You can ask me questions, and I will answer differently, but the bulk of what you know does not deviate too much from what someone else knows.
Yet, without a blog, when I am busy, and I want you to know what's going on in my life, I cannot possibly be calling each and everyone of you to tell you about the same things I repeated in the previous phonecall to someone else. It's choosing the better of the two evils isn't it?
Another aspect of blogs which I do not approve of is the display of emotion and opinions. What I am thinking now, you know exactly. How much more is left of me then, for you to find out about? I suppose you can argue that I, as the blog author, can choose not to express so much, but the draw of a blog space is this: an opportunity for expression. Moreover, it's extremely had to detail your life accounts without including your thoughts, opinions and feelings about what you do. Vice versa, it would be incomplete to include only my emotions without telling of what I have done, eg in my private blog. Experience and emotions can hardly be separated when reaccounting.

This picture was taken at a CSS 2006 Trivarsity Retreat at The Church of St. Teresa, by a fellow retreat cum CSS member.
Besides its bluish hue, I love how the shot was taken: from the church looking out to the city. We are often attracted by
the excitement that this world has to offer, but we should often be reminded that as Catholics, it is important
to look back at our selves to reflect, and to turn to God as often as it possible. For we are, afterall, children of God.
I thought of replacing this picture when I lost my template, but I could not find another so full of meaning and beauty to me.
It reminds me of my identities and roles - my spirituality, my God, my home, the people who read this blog, and of my own beauty.

mood: resigned
song in her head: wants to give you up. she knows you're not the one. not the one who understands her. not the one who wants to support her and love her for all her imperfections.
