Earning money, spending money, earning money, spending money. That's my life these few days. Not that it's bad. I've been enjoying myself sufficiently, and it feels good to know that you've earned it, literally.
Quite a few ups and downs in the restaurant recently. Last fri night a boy took something from the buffet counter, ate it, and started scratching terribly. Shortly after, he turned blue and his parents rushed him to the hospital. Halfway through, he fainted into a coma. Think he's fine at the hospital now. Poor kid. Not our fault though. His mum didn't tell any of the service staff about his allergy to nuts and dairy products, and didn't watch him.
The next night, the whole place was filled with big tables and big groups. Next to the group celebrating someone's 21st bday (rich family and friends man..), this poor old lady was going to the restroom, which was down the stairs into the basement. Apparently she slipped and rolled down the stairs. All I heard was a loud scream and a lot of banging. By the time I got to see her, she was bleeding quite badly, knocked unconscious and stiff on the ground, and her daughter was kneeling beside her screaming for her to wake up. Scary. In the end, the daughter claimed that she's a doctor, refused for the ambulance to be called, got us to help her mother stand up, and made their way to the hospital nearest to their house. Hope she's fine.
What urks me is the way so many people got up frpm their seats and stood at the top of the stairs to watch the drama. Just look and go people, no need to stand there like you're watching a thriller. I'm surprised there was even enough oxygen for the poor old woman to breathe.
After a short year, many people are getting promoted and transferred, and this sun we're celebrating their farewell (and promotion). Good opportunity for a get-together! Pity those who have to work the morning shift the next day. People like me.

This picture was taken at a CSS 2006 Trivarsity Retreat at The Church of St. Teresa, by a fellow retreat cum CSS member.
Besides its bluish hue, I love how the shot was taken: from the church looking out to the city. We are often attracted by
the excitement that this world has to offer, but we should often be reminded that as Catholics, it is important
to look back at our selves to reflect, and to turn to God as often as it possible. For we are, afterall, children of God.
I thought of replacing this picture when I lost my template, but I could not find another so full of meaning and beauty to me.
It reminds me of my identities and roles - my spirituality, my God, my home, the people who read this blog, and of my own beauty.

mood: resigned
song in her head: wants to give you up. she knows you're not the one. not the one who understands her. not the one who wants to support her and love her for all her imperfections.
